Lot 7

Warm Springs, Idaho

PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT

CARMEN FINEGAN

PROJECT TYPE

RESIDENTIAL

A special feature of this house is its nestled location along the Warm Springs creekside, with adjacency to the Warm Springs reserve. Something unique about this lot is that it is directly on a floodplain. The design had to acknowledge the restrictions that come with building on top of a floodplain, but CF did not let this strain aesthetics. This rather further sparked opportunity for creativity.

We wanted to give the owners of this house a feeling of privacy and containment despite the proximity of the neighbors. This was accomplished by integrating slight angels to create a courtyard kind of feel. The river side of the house has lots of windows and big sliding doors to be able to enjoy the sound of running water from any part of the house.
