THE PROCESS
At CF Architects, we specialize in the personalized design of projects that demand imaginative solutions. You can count on us to make the often overwhelming process of designing and building a home, a rewarding and enriching journey through open communication and a simplified process.
1. PRE DESIGN
We start by having a conversation about what you envision for your project.
Based on the intended uses for the project we’ll sketch out our design ideas. We will help you understand how zoning and code regulations may affect the project and determine the feasibility. It’s during this phase that we analyze any surveys and existing drawings.
The length of this phase can take as little as a couple of meetings or several months depending on the size and complexity of the project.
2. SCHEMATIC DESIGN
Once we have the scope of your project defined, we can dive into this phase with confidence, as it is the most FUN of all the design phases.
With the help of 3-D software and renders, we’ll produce plans to scale which will define how your project looks and functions.
3. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
During this critical phase we will refine and finalize the concept, nail down the selection of materials, systems, and produce 1/4” scale plans, elevations, and an updated model. Collaboration with other consultants is key.
Perhaps the most important of all phases of design because if done meticulously it saves time on the CD phase and will save us all from unpleasant surprises and costly fixes.
4. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS
During this last — but definitely not least– phase, all the technicalities get resolved and drawn, resulting in a complete and highly detailed set of construction documents.
Our goal is to foresee what will be needed during construction and provide exactly that. Accuracy and attention to every detail, ensure that everything is built exactly as you envisioned it.
